Overview
Fire Safety inspections and Audits are undertaken for a variety of reasons, such as to indicate compliance with statutory requirements, as part of due diligence, pre-purchase or sale appraisal, risk management, insurance assessment, gap analysis against current legislation or standards or as part of a comprehensive audit program.
Inspections
A Fire Safety Inspection is a snapshot look at all aspects of fire safety within a facility or building to measure its compliancy with current State and National regulatory requirements and those in place at the time of construction. All Fire Safety Inspections carried out FireSafe Australia come with a comprehensive Inspection report highlighting any contraventions, including exact references to the infringements occurred and recommendations to rectify them and useful recommendations to help improve your current fire safety arrangements.
Audits
All our Audits are carried out in accordance with Australian Standard 4655-2005 and as such are derived from nominated benchmarks. The areas audited are a combination of physical features and all relevant fire safety measures, provisions and procedures which define a level of safety to protect both life and asset in the event of a fire occurring. There are three levels of audit depending on the depth and involvement required. A full audit relies heavily upon the buildings or sites original fire safety documentation being available or an historical trail which would lead to these documents to ensure compliance with the approved design at the time of construction. This is especially critical if aspects of the buildings or sites fire safety management have been designed around a performance-based fire engineering design/solution rather than the deemed-to-satisfy provisions the Building Code of Australia.
